Explore Bolivia

Bolivia is a country that surprises with its incredible diversity and natural beauty, an array of experiences, from high-altitude cities to lush jungles and vast salt plains.

Explore La Paz, from above on the unique Teleférico gondola system, and marvel at the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Beyond the city, the Uyuni Salt Flats stand out as one of Bolivia’s most iconic attractions. These vast, shimmering white salt plains stretch endlessly toward the horizon like a majestic sea, creating an otherworldly landscape perfect for photography and stargazing.

Venture deeper into Bolivia’s wilderness, where the Amazon jungle and lowlands are teeming with wildlife. Spot capybaras grazing along riverbanks and perhaps catch a glimpse of the elusive jaguar as it moves silently through the trees.

In Sucre, wander the cobbled streets of this colonial city, where centuries-old architecture blends with rich cultural heritage. For a true family adventure, head to Toro Toro National Park, where you can hike through dramatic canyons, discover ancient rock art and uncover prehistoric dinosaur fossils.

Whether gazing across the endless salt plains, discovering Bolivia’s hidden wildlife, or stepping back in time, this country offers adventure for the whole family.

Many urban areas have walkability, and taxis and Ubers are readily available and cost-effective within cities.

When travelling between cities, flying is often the best option due to the country’s limited infrastructure and rugged, dangerous roads.

If you plan to visit the Amazon region (Rurrenabaque), be prepared for potential flight delays or cancellations. While buses are an option, the route is dangerous and long. In general, it’s best to plan ahead, keep flexible travel times, and be prepared for the unpredictability of transportation in Bolivia.

Tap Water is not safe to drink.
