Kaisosi River Lodge, Namibia
Located in the city of Rundu, Kaisosi River Lodge was our entry point into the Caprivi Strip. Set along the banks of the Kavango River (which separates Namibia from Angola), the lodge offered a peaceful riverside setting with a large outdoor deck—perfect for relaxing and keeping an eye out for hippos surfacing in the water.
In addition to the scenic views, there are plenty of kid-friendly activities to enjoy. The lodge included a restaurant, a games room with a pool table and foosball, and various outdoor amenities like a pool, trampoline, swings, tetherball, and mini golf. Kids will think they have arrived at a summer camp!

Typically, Kaisosi River Lodge wouldn’t be our favourite campground due to the proximity of campsites and lack of privacy. However, the amenities, and the occasional local visitor, more than made up for it.

The individual campsites had power and lights, a private bathroom with a shower (hot water on demand), an outdoor wash sink, and a fire pit. Wi-Fi was included, and reached the campsite intermittently.
